Hey!, I’ve found a nice site where to search for lyrics. I’ve made a Python script for amarok to do the job. It uses some extensions, such PyXML and does not have a configuration file — yet.

I think that the script will be extended to work with more web sites or services in the future, but now it does the job and it’s fast :D

I’ve modified the script to work with plugins, use base script Fetcher_LyricsPlugin.py as interface or lyrics fetcher plugin template…

To install the script, download it from LyricsPlugin-0.1.0.amarokscript.tar.gz, and install from amarok as any other script (menu: Tools/Script Manager, button: Install Script).

MD5 (LyricsPlugin-0.1.0.amarokscript.tar.gz) = 97fb8030c3a972370b3d93571f7f6d69

Changes:

  • Removed PyQt and PyKDE required python extensions.
  • No more half-lyrics download bugs.
  • No more broken pipe bugs.
  • Works only with DCOP, DBUS implementation isn’t complete.

Thanks for testing and enjoy…
