How many years must I tolerate constant reboots per day, operating system freeze, hours of inserting/removing installation CD’s, very low performance, automagic — some people call it automatic — and unwanted window popup to the front of the desktop, non customizable widgets on my desktop applications, poor look and feel customization, malware, spyware, trojans, feeling insecure while I’m browsing the web, low profile firewall or packet filter customization, undocumented services, non resolving problems knowledge base, long time loosed resolving trivial issues with incompatible drivers and software, operating system crashes by third party application — non preempted kernel? —, bloat usage of hardware resources, non working multithreading environment, non working multitasking environment, non balanced load arround hardware resources, slow filesystems, hours of hatred, and many things that don’t come to my mind now…

Anyone can use the Windows Installer to add applications to the system. Today I have gained another headache thanks to Microsfot Products. The situation: I need to upgrade to JDK 1.6. The problem: Windows Installer isn’t working.

For both .RETARD — Micro$oft call it .NET — and Java have a common exception in different namespaces to expose the same critical error: OutOfMemoryException.

Today me and my colleagues tried to install a web application contructed under .RETARD (Micro$oft call it .NET), but not using Web Deployment Projects and Setup Projects as usually the installations are done. Instead, the client requested a precompiled site install through site building.

As .NET Web Developer, I must develop AJAX enabled applications. The only one known toolkit to work with AJAX under .RETARD is Ajax Control Toolkit. How this project has Micro$oft, I expect that any release from this project has minimal errors or hidden errors not visible to the common user, but a colleague has sent me a screenshot of one of the toolkit controls.

As you know, I’m a web developer. Most users uses Micro$oft Internet Explorer as main browser. Developing web applications for this browser is a real nightmare. You must lead and deal with strange and non descriptive error messages. This causes a lot of lags in software development, you must be a kind of illuminated developer to guess which is the real error. While you get the things working on Firefox, Opera, Konqueror and Safari, on IE Internet Explorer you get things like the next screenshot.
